Name: Tillion
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Parentage: Lord Peregrine and Lady Jeanette.
Lifestyle Choice: Fluid.
Rank: Candidate
Job: Harper (Journeyman Rank)
Appearance:
Slight frame, fairly feminine from a distance (though slender, not curvy). Androgynous would be a good term. He has dark, nearly black hair that is long in the face and frames his more delicate features. His eyes are sharp though, focused and hazel, shifting between golden browns and greens with the light or his mood. He can often give the impression of not being quite 100% with his present company (eyes seemingly unfocused in another direction) until his attention is zeroed in on you, at which point it becomes clear that he notices everything. His skin is always fairly pale, no matter how much time he spends out in the sun. He's not very tall for a guy, though taller than the average female at 5'8.
Personality:
Tillion is by nature quiet. He prefers to sit back, unobtrusive, and observe his surroundings and the beings within them. He doesn't speak up often but when he does he easily commands attention (whether this is just because people are surprised to find that he's been there the whole time, not to mention talking, or whether he naturally commands attention when he wants to is a matter of opinion. I personally believe its a combination of both.) He's not a leader, not comfortable to be in the spotlight 100% of the time as it makes it more difficult to observe things in their natural setting but he would do well in an advisory or right hand man type role for a leader he respects. Tillion comes across as very trustworthy immediately to no acquaintances, someone you can trust to keep your secrets because while he has an interest in hearing everything you have to say, and learning everything he can- he doesn't see any reason at all to share this information with anyone else. In regards to the "lifestyle" question, if you were to ask Tillion directly he would look at you very strangely and asked why it would matter. No one has caught his eye to date but he has no preference whatsoever regarding which gender might. As a harper he's never had to be particularly strong, but has sure hands and nimble fingers with a soothing tenor voice.
Tillion has always had friends around him, fellow students of music but no one person that ever stuck out as being particularly important. He functions more as a confidant or a mentor for other harpers, assisting new students with their technique or tricks to remembering the long tales and listening to anyone who needed a friendly ear. As far as romantic interest there has been none, at least not on Tillion's end. There were a few 'crushes' from some of the younger harpers that he caught wind of early on and let them down as gently as possible so as not to lead them on.
History:
As Lord Peregrine's third child he had an indulgent childhood. He was a very good kid, quiet, and stayed out of the way so when he was found picking up any household instrument he could get his hands on, he was left to his own devices, especially after his mother passed away when he was just 5 years old, he doesn't remember much of her, just that she was in a lot of pain from an incurable disease. His natural affinity for music led to him becoming a harpers' apprentice when he was 8 years old and he's dedicated his life to the study of music and history. His demeanor has always led itself well to study and the long hours of practice required to earn his journeyman rank and to continue practicing his craft came as naturally as breathing. Why wouldn't he want to sit at his instrument for hours on end, practicing the same phrase over and over until he had it right? What else should he be doing with his time? With his single-minded focus he earned his journeyman rank at just 12 years old, at his first opportunity to try.
His father remarried when he was 8 years old, but she died as well, when he was 15. He didn't spend much time with her as he was dedicated (if not quite obsessive) when it came to his studies, though he still felt her loss.
Other than a thirst for knowledge on all things dragon-related, Tillion hadn't given much though to being a rider himself. That is of course, until he was brought to the weyr as a candidate and now the possibility of becoming a dragon rider is almost too good to be true.
He has settled into his place in the candidate barracks easily enough (he can fall asleep anywhere.. like almost literally anywhere, if fastened down he could probably sleep on his future dragon to be.) At the moment he is content to just observe his fellow candidates, not having reached out to anyone yet and seems to have slipped by most of the other candidates notice completely- which is just fine for him for now. That could change if someone of interest to him shows up.
IC: What Colors Do You Wish to Impress? Pick at least 3 - White, Silverlight, Dawn or Brown
IC: Why? - Tillion doesn't pay much attention to the genders of the dragons or what that's "supposed" to mean for the rider, he admires the personality traits and is intrigued by the four above more then the other hues but he would be happy with any dragon.
OOC: What Colors Do You Wish Them to Impress? Pick at least 3 - White, Sunset, Silverlight, Ruby (female), Dusk, of these Dusk would be the least preferred. (However I always defer to the wisdom of the hatching leader.)
OOC: Why? - Tillion (T'lion) is a character that is something of an oddity, a quiet and keen observer and having a dragon that thinks differently then the norm is a definite plus. I also prefer him on a dragon that doesn't fly, but could work around flight if its necessary.
Are You Okay With Mauling? Would rather not, but if you find it necessary.
If So, to What Degree? Minimal unless with good reasons... I suppose a scar could be cool.
Are You Alright With Them Being Left Standing? Yup, rather wait for the right dragon
