---Very Rare---
Gold:
The Traditional Queens of Pern's Weyr, they are also the largest dragons, and Mistress' of all the others. Even an Ebony will bow her head to a Gold, unless she outranks her. These Queens are lithe and beautiful, with hides that can range from an almost white gold to a rich, nearly bronze shade. They tend towards vanity, but are good leaders, sharp and intelligent, with a better memory than the other shades, save Whites. They mature around 3 Turns of age, and will Rise once every two Turns afterwards, clutching between 10 and 50 eggs, depending on the Sire and the Flight itself.
Ebony:
Beautiful dark Queens, they are somewhat smaller than their Gold sisters, though still generally larger than the Bronzes. Black based hides are speckled with 'stars' of a golden shade, and they are stocky, built more like a Brown, heavily muscled and powerful in Flight. Their Flights don't tend to last as long as a Gold's, but they are just as capable of laying large clutches, up to thirty eggs with a strong sire and good Flight. They mature at age 3 and Rise once every Turn and a half or so.
---Rare---
Bronze:
The Kings of the Weyr, Bronzes are arrogant and can sometimes come across as self-centered. Despite this, they are good leaders, strong of mind and body. They range in hue from a dark, almost black shading to a rich golden bronze color, and are large and muscular. They Fly to any hue of female, although they prefer to try for Queens when possible.
Ruby:
Rubies are an oddity for the Weyr in that they come in both genders. Males are large and powerful, considered Kings of the Weyr, while the sleeker, lither females are classed as middle ranked and made to chew 'stone to prevent Clutching. Their shading can range from an almost pink tone to a deep, rich red, and they are commonly sheened with a rainbow shimmer, giving them a gemlike cast. Male Rubies are playful, silly beasts, but can be serious when it's necessary. Their female counterparts are almost the exact opposite, brooding and serious, with an almost introspective cast to them. A female Ruby Rises once she's matured at the age of two, and will go up about every Turn or so. Males will give Chase to any Hue, and are capable of catching anything.
---UnCommon--- ( NOTE: Ruby Females are UnCommon )
Brown:
The Mediators of the Weyr, Browns are calm, collected beasts who can usually be found sunning or just generally relaxing. They have been accused of being lazy, but it's more that they see no reason to get worked up over things that are little. They come in shades of a pale tannish shade to a rich chocolately hue and are stocky and muscular, with long wings that, when Hatched, seem almost too long for their bodies. They mature at roughly two Turns of age, and will Chase any female, though they usually only catch Female Rubies and down. Only a truly powerful Brown can catch a Queen.
Dawn:
Dawns are exquisite, mid-ranked creatures, sleek and slender, with an almost skinny build that makes them highly agile for their size. They are always female, and are shaded in pale blues, purples and pinks with veins of silvery shading. They commonly have 'patches' of color on their hides, with a base of one shade, and the patches coming in the other two. Usually this base is a soft pink with patches of blue and purple. These lovely females really have no one specific trait, personality wise, save for their gentle and compassionate natures. They mature at age 2 and Rise once every half-turn, though they do not Clutch.
---Common---
Blue:
Blues are the workhorses of the Weyr, with long flames and strong flying skills. They are always male, and come in shades of an almost white to a dark navy hue, sleek and lithe, with an agility that larger males have trouble matching. They can be pranksters, silly and enjoying living life, and their riders are more often then not their targets. They mature at roughly 2 Turns and will Chase anything if they think they are able, although they normally don't have the stamina to catch anything higher than a Dawn or small Ruby female.
Dusk:
Dusks come in both genders, and these common dragons show a sleek, agile figure, as well as wings that are highly aerodynamic, swept back and edged with a soft, almost downy substance that makes them near silent when in flight. They are rich shades of purple and navy hues, with traces of true black and sometimes flecks of silver show up as well. Males are more likely to be that navy hue, while females are more likely to be purple or indigo, but this is not always the case. Dusks are quiet and mysterious, preferring not to talk to anyone save their rider, or sometimes a special "Other" who can be human or dragon. Both sexes mature at 2, and females Rise roughly every half-turn, but do not Clutch. Males will not Chase anything higher than a Dawn, being very aware of their limits.
Sunset:
Sunsets are small, spunky females, with an enjoyment for life and a lack of drive for mating that leaves them one of two hues that has no desire to go up into the air. With hides of rich orange swirled with dark reds and vibrant golds, they are lithe and agile, and enjoy doing aerial acrobatics. Their true love though, aside from their Mine of course, is sunning, on the beach, on their ledge, whatever. They just love to relax and feel the warmth.
Green:
Greens are the least intelligent of the hues, but that does mean these spunky females are to be treated as a child. Far from it. They range in shade from a pale, jade green shade to a rich, dark hunter green, almost black in some cases, and can frequently have shadings that are much lighter or much darker than the rest of their bodies. Sleek and agile, they are some of the best 'trick flyers' although their stamina is far from the best, and they frequently have to trade out during Threadfall. They are flirty and silly, and their flirtatiousness only gets worse when they are near Rising, although their Rider may not always know this... When a Green likes someone, she REALLY likes them, but getting on a Green's bad side is not a good thing, as they are just as capable of strong dislike. Highly empathic and sensitive, they also make the best Searchdragons, and are frequently credited with the finding of some of the best Candidates in a Weyr. They mature at roughly a Turn and a half, and Fly frequently, usually about three times every Turn.
Silverlight:
Silverlights are small, beautiful females (and VERY rarely males) of a rich ebony shading, overlaid with a silvery sheen that, combined with their silver spinal ridges, silver claws and silver tail tips gives them an incredible amount of shimmer for a non-Queen dragoness. They are sleek and slender, with almost birdlike wings that fold over their backs rather than down their sides, and while they are fast, they don't have the greatest stamina, meaning that their Flights do not last very long. Silverlights are happiest when they're around their Bonded one, and they love fire-lizards. Also, unlike the vast majority of their breed, these dragons understand and respect watch-whers, and will converse freely with them, rather than just to pump them for information as other dragons are wont to do. They mature at roughly a Turn and a half old, and Rise once every half Turn or so.
---Very Rare---
White:
Whites will always be the smallest of the dragon hues, the largest of them never coming close to even the smallest Green. Despite this, these snow-white dragons(who sometimes have a sheen or shimmer of rainbow hues to their soft hides) are just as happy and charismatic as any of the other hues. They do not have a 'gender' persay, instead generally relating to that of their rider, meaning if a rider is male, they will generally have a 'male' White, and same with females. This is not always the case, but gendered Whites are still a rarity in the Weyr, with only one existing so far, and that one being a fire-lizard. They mature at roughly the same rate as the other hues, but are far wiser, with an acute knowledge of /betweening/ that always leaves them knowing WHEN they are, as well as where. They adore Firelizards, and the little ones tend to flock to them, fascinated by them.
