"That is the commonly held theory, yes," Shayden said impassively, holding up a hand. The little Green alighted on it lightly, and he stroked her back and neck gently, just considering it. "I'd like to know how they did it, though, if that is indeed the case. That knowledge could be useful..." He hummed softly to himself, and the Green chirped, then hummed along with him in counterpoint, causing him to smile.

Tillion grinned a little and whistled a little tune with their humming, reaching up to stroke the little green down her back. "Useful," he agreed with a soft giggle. He shifted to pull his wet clothes away from his skin a little again, the fabric uncomfortable against his soft skin.

She chirred to him, then continued her humming along with the human, enjoying it. When Tillion tugged at his clothing, Shayden's lips twitched. "We can get you some dry clothing," he said mildly. "The Handlers who are not Candidates actually live here in the stables." He motioned to one of them who looked to be about Tillion's size and asked him if he had any spare clothing. The Handler nodded, then smiled wryly.
"Hope ya don't mind smelling like the beasts for a bit," he said lightly, his tone happy and lilting, and the little Green chirped. This was obviously her human, and her taking flight from Shayden's hand to alight on his shoulder only made that clear.

Tillion smiled gratefully up to him and shook his head. "Not at all," he said quietly, "I enjoy the smell of the stables." He looked back to Shayden then and rubbed the back of his neck. "Thank you for thinking of that.. I didn't want to be a bother."

The Handler nodded and padded off, murmuring to his Green as he went. When he came back, he had a selection of clothing, all in the browns and tans of a Handler, and all smelling distinctly of the beasts surrounding them, even though he promised they were clean. "The smell kind of attaches itself, despite our efforts," he said wryly, and Shayden chuckled.
"You're more than welcome, Tillion, he said mildly, his blue gaze calm as it considered the other man. "And thank you for your help. It was very useful."

Tillion nodded with a smile and shifted up to pull his shirt over his head, "I'm just happy I didn't get in your way, it's been a lovely way to spend the day."

Shayden nodded thoughtfully and just watched him calmly, unconsciously letting his eyes roam over him, dispassionate and composed. He was good looking for sure, but at the moment, Shay was not looking for anything. "You weren't in the way," he said mildly. "You were quite helpful."

Tillion shivered and quickly pulled the dry clothes on, glancing to Shayden. "Good," he said with a small grin. "Which of these runners is your favorite?"

Shayden considered that, then shrugged. "I really don't have one," he said mildly. "Although if I HAD to pick one, I'd probably say Cari, one of the mares. She's a black beauty with three white socks and a snip on her muzzle." He smiled fondly as he thought of the mare, then looked around them, listening as the thunder's rumbling began to slack off, the rain ending overhead.

Tillion listened to him thoughtfully, keeping the new information in mind. His head titled as Shayden's head did, listening to the rain as it petered off. "It's peaceful in here.. Even with a storm right outside."

Shayden shrugged and smiled. "I'm used to it. I enjoy the peace. We all do." He looked around at his fellows, who all agreed with him and then went about settling the animals once more, getting things set back up so that they could be released back outside now the storm had passed.

Tillion nodded, looking around at everyone getting back to work and offering a hand with getting the animals back outside. "How old were you when you rode for the first time?" He asked as they worked.

"Rode what?" Shayden asked mildly. He'd ridden dragons and runners, so either of those was a possibility. Although he was assuming Tillion meant runners. given where they were and his profession.

"Runners," he said, confirming Shayden's suspicions. "You look like you were born right on their back, so natural and at home."

"A good enough guess," the Beasthealer replied mildly. "I was born to a Beasthandler and a Dragonrider. My Stepfather is also a Beasthandler, and I grew up in a cothold where we raised them." He gave Tillion a faint smile. "I was five when I first rode one without assistance, three when I first rode one with my mother holding me."
