(Playby Sean Bean)
Name: N'ren Jorashi
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Birthingday: 1st Month, 1st Day, 178th Turn of the Interval
Lifestyle Choice: Straight
Rank: Wingleader
Job: Master Beasthandler
Appearance: N'ren is a beautiful man, there are no doubts of this. His wild hair is a brilliant shade of sun-gold, touched slightly with silvery gray from past and current stresses, and hangs in waves to his shoulders. He generally keeps it tied back, especially when riding his Bonded. That hair is paired with eyes of a VERY pale ice blue shading, with just enough silver in them to save them from being truly blue, but they are not gray either. He stands at a muscular and well built six foot two inches, with broad shoulders, sleek hips and long legs, and his arms are muscled and end in agile, heavily calloused fingers. He prefers his riding leathers, as they are, to him, familiar and comfortable, not overly different from the riding leathers he wore as a Beasthandler, generally in shades of browns and tans. When he dresses up though, he does so in style, with rich fabrics in generally dark tones that set off his tanned skin, hair and eyes.
Personality: There are three words that define N'ren's personality. Stubborn, Possessive, and protective. HEAVILY family oriented, he is always in contact with home, and does not go a week without receiving some communication from the Jorashi stronghold in the mountains. His protective streak runs deep, and once someone triggers it, they can count on this rider to defend them to the death if it becomes necessary. His friends praise his loyalty, and his former lovers all speak of his highly possessive nature with good-natured curses. He makes sure that all those around him who he cares for are safe and cared for, and should he ever come into contact with she who makes his heart sing in a manner similar to Dioxyth, it can be assured that he will NOT be letting her get away from him or ever be harmed. This man will kill to protect what is his, although this only seems to extend to those things living, for material things don't seem to have much pull over him.
History: N'ren is the oldest of five children, four brothers and one sister. His love for his family was instilled in him by his father Terran, then the Jorashi patriarch, and encouraged by Kerrina, his mother, especially after his younger brother Teker was born when he was two. Every two years after that, he got another brother, but it was four Turns after the youngest Kerren's birth that Kerita came along. By that point, Naren was already ten, and his little sister became the light of his life, heavily spoiled, protected and pampered by all of her brothers. At the age of twelve, N'ren became an Apprentice to his father, a highly skilled and talented Beasthandler, and showed great skill with it, though he and all the other brothers were outshone by the giant Teker when he came of Apprenticeship age. He didn't mind though, and instead looked to the idea of becoming a Dragonrider, a dream for all young lads. As his father's Heir, this dream wasn't exactly ENCOURAGED, but as Terran had four sons, one of whom was in no danger of leaving home, the Jorashi Patriarch didn't deny his son when the dragons came on N'ren's sixteenth birthingday with news of a Clutch at the Weyr. N'ren and Kerren both were taken, the youngest selected when the Blue Searching became aware of his high sensitivity, and brought to Black Sands for a try at the Clutch. Kerren did not Impress-though he was okay with this, being all of ten at the time, technically too young to even be there-but N'ren was blessed with a HIGHLY unusual specimen, Hatched from an average sized egg. This specimen INSISTED to all who asked that he was a Bronze, but his coloring denied this, and it took a long time for him to be accepted for the King he claimed to be. Throughout their Weyrling Training, Dioxyth and N'ren shone, being hard workers and determined to prove themselves good enough to fit the label placed on them as a Kingpair.
During the Flaming Lesson, Dioxyth inadvertantly got his rider when the wind shifted, leaving N'ren with a burn scar on his right forearm, but despite his Bronze's panic that His would be angry with him, N'ren reassured him that he would be fine, that it was minor and they should continue on once the burn had been dealt with. Three Turns later, they graduated with full acceptance, and were quickly made the Wingsecond to, of all things, the Weyrleader's Wing. Despite Dioxyth's small size, his stubborness and determination, and that of his rider, had impressed the Rubyrider, and they were trained in how to do their jobs well, as well as how to be Wingleaders should that time ever come.
It was at this time that Ebony Destinith had been Hatched, the first of her hue at Black Sands-though Ebonies resided in other Weyrs as well- and the acceptance of her and her rider Auralina was the main trigger for the Weyr to accept Dioxyth for what HE was. N'ren would be forever grateful to the Queenrider for making the whispers stop, though he has never seen her as anything but a sister and his superior. And now, with the jungle besieged by bandits and the Weyr's dragons in danger, the Bronzerider and his dragon have become even more determined to make sure their Weyr stays safe, especially with the Red Star looming ever closer on the horizon...
Dragon's Information
Dragon's Name: Dioxyth
Dragon's Age: 6 Turns
Dragon's Hue: Bronze
Dragon's Parentage: Gold Ayinth and Ruby Mintath
Dragon's Appearance: Though Dioxyth is OFFICIALLY labeled as a Bronze, and identifies as one when asked, his COLOR is anything but bronze in tone. He is a stunningly beautiful silver shade, and the common belief is that he merely lacks the normal pigmentation of his claimed hue. Shades of lighter tone swirl along his sides and over his eyes, giving them a strange appearance, and his wings are so light as to seem almost sheer and crystalline in direct light, a sharp contrast to the richness of the rest of his body. He is actually rather small for a Bronze, only as a big as an average Brown, but his personality more than makes up for his small size.
Dragon's Personality: Dioxyth is no one's pet, and he'll make it VERY clear if someone tries to claim he is. Though loyal, stubborn and loving with N'ren, he is highly suspicious of those he DOESN'T know, and will always carefully examine someone new until he's decided one way or the other. Blessed(or cursed depending on your perspective) with all the arrogance and leadership skills of a Bronze, he takes no crap from anyone, and his Wingriders are always under intense scrutiny during exercises.
